We are GDIT. The people supporting and securing
some of the most complex government, defense,
and intelligence projects across the country. We
ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our
work has meaning and impact on the world around
us, but also on us, and that's important.
GDIT is your place. You make it your own by
embracing autonomy, seizing opportunity, and
being trusted to deliver your best every day.
We think. We act. We deliver. There is no
challenge we can't turn into opportunity. And our
work depends on a Change/Release Manager joining our team to
support our government client's activities in the Northern Virginia locations.
Supports customer logistics requirements through the analysis, organization, planning, and administration of various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, maintenance, and/or repair activities. Performs functions such as demand forecasting, material procurement, production planning, inventory control, inventory reductions, cost savings, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution. Creates integrated processes among internal functions and outside suppliers. Develops logistics policies and procedures.
The Change/Release Manager (CRM) position is more aligned to project management:
* We receive the customer's order from the service catalog or as a non-standard service request and manage it as a project. The CRM uses their judgement to determine if the requested work is within our scope. Clarifications and additional details are worked out between the CRM and the customer.
* Once the scope is defined, the CRM issues a task to a work group to do a site survey; the data from that survey becomes part of the rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost estimate that is provided to the customer.
* The customer agrees to the cost and provides a funding code to allow for procurement of the items.
* The CRM uses that funding code and orders the items, and then tracks their delivery.
* Once delivered to the warehouse, the CRM tasks the logistics team to have the items delivered to the site.
* Once delivered to the site, the CRM tasks a work group to do the installation.
* After installation, the CRM follows up with the customer to ensure everything was delivered and installed correctly.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS, 2+ years of related experience.
Because of the sensitive nature of the work being done for this government client, all candidates must hold a TS/SCI and Polygraph.
