Job Description

The Software Engineer will work with a team of data scientists and targeters to develop data flows, manipulate data, and design, develop, code, test, and debug software products for both existing and new systems. As a team member, work in a multi-tasking, quick-paced, dynamic, process improvement environment that requires experience with the principles of data processing and software engineering. The ideal candidate is a hands-on platform builder with significant experience in developing scalable data platforms, with experience in business intelligence, analytics, data science and data products.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience

Minimum of eight years current and related software development experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

8 to 10 years of related software engineering and ETL experience Experience building and maintaining data flows Excellent organizational, coordination, interpersonal and team building skills

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

Experience with the following languages: Java, Scala, Python, Shell Scripting Hands-on experience with distributed computing systems: Hadoop, Spark, EMR, Databricks, or other Knowledge of AWS Cloud technologies: EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, VPC, ELB Knowledge of servers operating systems: Linux, Windows Strong problem-solving skills Ability to comprehend database methodologies Focus on continual process improvement with a proactive approach to problem solving Ability to follow directions and finish taskings Experience with building APIs and services using REST, SOAP, etc. Experience with Elastic Search and relational databases.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Research, design, develop and/or modify enterprise-wide systems and/or application software. Develop complex data flows or make significant enhancements to existing pipelines. Research emerging technologies to determine impact on application execution. Test software development methodology in an agile environment. Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms. Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, analyst, project managers and other engineers Troubleshoots complex problems and provides customer support for software systems and application issues. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Work alongside other engineers on the team to sustain and advance our organization's capabilities
