Position Overview:
The Capital Planning team is seeking a confident, self-motivated and analytical thinker with strong leadership, partnership, and communication skills with a passion for data analysis and data synthesis!
The Capital Planning Data Analytics Senior will be responsible for supporting the team in creating and visualizing data to communicate complex patterns to executives and business users. The Capital Planning Data Analytics Senior will report to the Capital Planning Analytics and Reporting Manager. Key duties include data analysis, especially as it relates to end-to-end data flow and capital variance analysis, with a goal to enhance the ability of the Capital Planning Team to tell the story about the data to key stakeholders and senior management.
Your Impact:
The Capital Planning division is responsible for the planning, forecasting, and optimization of capital. The team focuses on the oversight of all capital management, capital planning and elements related to risk appetite and capital contingency, as well as strategic and policy initiatives. The teams activities are focused on both business-as-usual and stress environments and ties closely with other areas within the Finance function including Financial Planning and Analysis and Stress Testing. Our team:
* Collaborates with the division finance and business areas as well as division risk officers (DROs) in the implementation of the recently enacted Enterprise Capital Rule and coordinates associated regulatory submissions, including conservatorship capital reporting.
* Drives the optimization of capital in partnership with other areas within Finance and the business areas to improve the systems and processes currently utilized to perform these activities.
* Develops the strategies and tools to accurately measure and optimize capital capacity and ratios and related measures.
Capital Planning is a new group recently created reporting to the Chief Finance Officer and this is a great opportunity to be part of a high-profile and fast-growing team that will implement Freddie Macs Capital Planning and Management Strategy during its build-out phase.
Your Impact:
As a member of the Capital Planning Team you will:
* Access large data sets utilizing programming, Business Intelligence systems like Tableau and relational database systems like SQL skills to perform point-in-time as well as trending and sensitivity analysis
* Collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information from internal and external sources with attention to detail
* Construct detailed presentation decks, reports, automated programs and algorithms to detect and explain data management related issues
* Possess in-depth knowledge on financial market, mortgage industry and fixed income products. Familiar with how loan delinquency impact profits and capital and relevant credit risk mitigation strategies
* Experience in working with FHFA and other regulators preferred; Follow FHFA published rules and directives closely
* Demonstrate understanding of internal business segment (stakeholders) and build capability to obtain relevant data and information efficiently for capital analysis
* Collaborate with fellow team members and other participants within Capital Management
* Develop and maintain reporting templates and documentation of methodologies and execution to support governance requirements
Qualifications:
* 5-7 years of related professional experience
* Strong communication and strategic thinking skills to engage with senior leadership
* Proficient in working with large-scale business data sets
* Fluent in scripting and rapid prototyping skills including expertise in technology such as SAS, SQL, Python, R, and/or BI tools such as Hyperion and MicroStrategy
* Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
* Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
* Experience working for Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac preferred
* An undergraduate degree is required. MBA, Master's, CFA is preferred
