Foot Locker is seeking a 1st Shift Distribution Center Manager. This role reports to the Director of Operations and oversees the daily operation of assigned department(s) at the Distribution Center. The 1st Shift Distribution Center Manager leads and coordinates activities of Associates, and evaluates operating methods and procedures for improvements and total quality. This position will focus on innovative and creative ways to achieve desired results in the areas of accuracy, productivity, service, cost effectiveness and growth and development of Associates.
This position will inspire the team to achieve desired results in productivity, teamwork, safety, quality, and job knowledge. This individual will drive personal growth and development by leveraging tools, resources, and relationships with other leaders. Responsible to motivate teams and manage conflict; ability to provide feedback and develop team. This individual will have the ability to read, interpret, and effectively communicate necessary policies and procedures to others.
* Achieve or exceed productivity targets, leading productivity initiatives
* Partner and coordinate with Operations management to ensure seamless transition between shifts
* Collaborate with support departments to ensure consensus on policies and procedures
* Build and execute appropriate development plans including bench strength
* Manage a safe workplace by advocating safety training and accident preparedness
* Troubleshoot and provide support on all Operations matters
* Communicate clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences
* Collaborate across departments to drive optimal productivity
* Foster an environment in which diverse backgrounds are respected and valued
* Ensure performance plans are set, maintained, and continuously improved
* Generate creative solutions to identify improvements in processes

* Multiple direct reports at the supervisor level with approximately 100 indirects.
* Bachelor's degree from four-year college preferred
* Minimum of 5 years related experience is highly preferred
* Previous experience in Direct To Consumer and Store Fulfillment highly preferred
* Strong reasoning, analytical, and organizational skills
* Staff mentoring and development / technical guidance and direction
* Teamwork and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate with customers, associates, and senior management
* May be required to adjust schedule by coming in early and/or leaving later to meet production objectives, attend meetings and events or provide the building leadership coverage. Must be consistently at work and on time and ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent
