Job Title: HVAC Mechanic I
Job Summary:
EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a HVAC Mechanic Journeyman in Arlington, VA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Installs, services, and repairs environment control systems in office buildings utilizing knowledge of refrigerator should in theory, pipefitting, and structural layout.
* Mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor using hand tools,
* Performs maintenance for all the following: computer room units, air handling units, fans, induction units, fan coil units, condensing units, split systems, and refrigeration and air conditioning units.
* Installs evaporator unit in chassis or in air duct systems using hand tools.
* Tests joints and connections for gas leaks, delete, using gauges or soap and water solution.
* Hang and insulate pipes.
* Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units.
* May install, repair, and service air conditioners.
* Required to work overtime including evenings, nights, holidays and weekends, as needed.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* At a minimum, must be factory trained or certified for Liebert and Stolz computer air conditioning units or have at least seven (7) years of direct experience.
* Must possess a Journeyman's license and Universal CFC license.
* Must be able to read/follow blueprints or engineering specifications.
* Must be able to cut and bend tubing to correct length and shape, threads pipe using machine/hand threading equipment, join tubing/pipes to various refrigerating units using a torch, forming complete circuit for refrigerant, and install expansion and discharge valves in circuit.
* Must be able to connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls and circulating ventilation fans to control panels.
* Must be able to add refrigerant, observe pressures via vacuum gauges and adjust controls to ensure proper operation.
* Must be eligible for a security clearance.
* Must be willing and able to work overtime including evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends, as needed.
