In this job, youll lead work collaboratively with a wide range of cross-functional groups across SCE, within engineering as well as field personnel teams (i.e. with apparatus engineers, field engineers, planning, field personnel and training) in investigation of failed equipment to determine the cause and make recommendations to reduce the likelihood of future failures. The Engineer 3 of Failure Analysis will present findings to impacted stakeholders, communicate recommendations to T&D personnel, and assist in the development of mitigation measures. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

* Conduct root cause investigation and failure analysis of failed equipment
* Develop recommendation to mitigate and reduce the likelihood of failures. Recommendations could include, changes to design standards, work practices, material used, constructions standards and inspection criteria.
* Work with key Subject Matter Experts to drive for solutions to issues rising from standard updates
* Undertake projects, multi-functional challenges that often require cross-functional teams.
* Engineering and economic analysis of various technical issues
* Support in the development and mentoring of engineering interns and entry level engineers within the team
* Create and maintain a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices
* Performs other duties and responsibilities as the need arises

Qualifications
The essentials

* Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering
* Five (5) or more years of Engineering experience

The preferred

* Experience in root cause investigation and/or failure analysis
* Experience with T&D equipment and processes
* California P.E. License
* Experience in leading and/or participating in cross-functional teams to address and solve business and engineering issues
* Experience developing and communicating ideas and information effectively to diverse audiences through oral presentations and written communications, specifically developing and delivering technical presentation
* Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint

* Must be available for on call duties after hours and on weekends.
* Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
* The primary work location for this position is Pomona, however the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time from home/remotely.
