Become a Business Operations Advisor working at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job you will work to support safety-related initiatives and lead teams to support project and communication planning, support decision making on Edison Safety goals and vision, and manage publications distributed across the enterprise. Develop and design safety products that inform and educate audiences on various safety topics; this includes emergent communications that are crucial to the safety of our workers.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine brightly!
* Lead cross-functional teams to develop project and communication plans; makes decisions on strategic approach to meet audience needs
* Align with and support safety culture efforts; develop and integrate plans for efforts in partnership with project/partner teams
* Manage safety content on digital SmartScreens throughout the service territory
* Manage and coordinate planning for the Safety Digest distributed throughout the enterprise, including maintaining partnerships with content contributors
* Co-manage Edison Safety Portal, including content management, and refresh formatting and design, and participate in relevant opportunities to develop and enhance skills
* Maintain strong working relationships to develop and execute work, and acts as a key partner.
* Support the development of emergent communications and help determine the best approach for messaging type, distribution, target audience, and appropriate tone
* Partner with employees and leaders to understand the needs of the audience; this may include participating on project teams and leading/facilitating meetings
* Partner with other SC&BS colleagues to support needs, such as acting as a back-up to their role or participating on a project team
* Work with communication planning and creative design
* Track activities and provide status updates to management and partners
* Interact with all levels of management, including senior and executive leadership
* Occasional travel may be required within assigned SCE territory.
* Maintain a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices and performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
The Essentials
* Seven years experience managing and implementing communications and publications using creative design skills.
* Two years of experience creating project proposals, maintaining, and tracking project scope, resources, business needs, and provide status updates/monitor progress.
The Preferred
* Bachelors Degree in Communications, Business, or other related area of study or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
* Experience interfacing and collaborating with peers, management, and other departments
* Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
* A strong safety background.
* Experience analyzing information, developing recommendations and solutions, and effectively presenting recommendations to management or project teams.
* Experience facilitating/leading meetings.
* Ability to integrate work across relevant areas, manage risk and information
* Knowledge of SCE policies, practices, procedures, objectives, and strategies
* Ability to inspire change and consult with management on policy/initiative recommendations and provide outstanding service to internal and external partners
* Experience working across needs for a diverse population
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Sway and PowerPoint, and Adobe Photoshop
