Become a Strategy and Corporate Development Advisor at Edison International (EIX) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will help us lead strategic planning, innovation, and sustainability activities for EIX and its companies. You will work across all areas of our team supporting strategic planning, business development efforts, growth & innovation initiatives, and advancement of the companys environmental, social, and governance (ESG)/sustainability priorities, to translate this work into actionable strategies and opportunities.

You will play a key role in advancing strategic objectives of EIX, with responsibility for quantitative and qualitative analyses, including (but not limited to) monitoring/research of industry trends in the energy sector; development of strategies and scenarios; exploration of new ideas and business models; scanning the ecosystem of early-stage cleantech companies; and tracking of clean infrastructure markets such as solar, wind and energy storage.

More broadly, you will help shape our companys overall strategy, leveraging your awesome analytical, problem-solving, strategic thinking and creativity skills to help the team. In the role, you will showcase your influencing skills by presenting for senior management, including members of the EIX C-suite and leadership at EIXs operating companies, Southern California Edison (SCE) and Edison Energy.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
Strategy Development and Internal Consulting. As a core part of for your job, youll support EIXs Strategic Planning function in several ways:

* Help lead the annual strategic planning process for the company.
* Provide insights on industry trends, themes, scenarios, and hypotheses to business leaders of EIX and its subsidiaries.
* Play the role of project manager for new strategic initiatives and perform industry, market, and technology research to support development of new strategies.
* Conduct independent, in-depth analysis of complex business problems, and present findings and recommendations to senior leaders.
* Support the companys sustainability strategy, including: development of frameworks and governance; coordination of sustainability initiatives or assessments; tracking, reporting and disclosure of sustainable activities; and communication efforts.

Evaluation of New Opportunities. Additionally, youll have the opportunity to look at innovative business models and cutting edge companies to map the space well play in, and explore emerging or at-scale growth opportunities, in collaboration with our Growth & Innovation team:

* Conduct research and analyze key sectors to get insights on innovation trends, changing customer segments, new business models, disruptive technologies and early-stage companies/startups.
* Contribute to sourcing, evaluation and validation of new business models/ideas or venture investment opportunities for EIX, by linking their value proposition with the broader strategy.
* Monitor key infrastructure, service and technology markets for potential new growth for EIX, assessing strategic alignment of different large-scale opportunities.
* Conduct quantitative analysis as needed (e.g., market models, valuation, forecasts, project finance, etc.), and apply critical thinking, problem-solving skills and data-driven approach, to support assessment of opportunities for EIX leadership consideration.

Qualifications
The essentials

* Three or more years of experience across strategy/management consulting, corporate strategy, or equivalent functional experience.

The preferred

* Bachelors degree or higher in business, economics, finance, engineering, or a related discipline.
* Being comfortable in an unstructured work environment and able to cut through uncertainty to proactively move ideas forward.
* Experience communicating complex analyses and information to senior management.
* Experience, knowledge and/or a strong curiosity in energy, e-mobility and clean technologies.
