Job Summary

This is a position responsible for performing all preventative maintenance inspections, handling major and minor repairs to all company vehicles and equipment to include but not limited to: service trucks, power operated equipment, backhoes, trailers, etc.; fabricating vehicle and equipment accessories; building and customizing vehicles and equipment with a variety of parts to manufacturer and customer specifications to include but not limited to: wiring components, plumbing hydraulics, fabricating components, drilling and cutting to properly mount components, and interpreting schematics.

The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined below.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

* 3 years of experience as an auto and/or truck mechanic and experience working with power operated equipment required.
* Must have detailed and comprehensive knowledge of vehicle maintenance schedules, automotive systems, internal combustion engines, vehicle design and composition, and test equipment and proper use of equipment.
* Must be self-motivated, be able to work independently and as a team member.
* Must be able to demonstrate ability to work safely and environmentally knowledgeable.
* Bucket or line truck knowledge and skills.
* Must be able to diagnose and perform major and minor repairs to all systems of internal combustion engines including diesels; must be able to perform diagnostic activities for electronic computer contracted systems; must be able to maintain and repair a variety of company power operated equipment.
* Knowledge and skills on fiberglass and light body repair a plus.
* Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, sit, stand, walk, push/pull, handle objects (manual dexterity), reach above shoulder level, maintain balance, use fine finger movements, and lift or carry loads up to and over 50lbs.
* Must be able to demonstrate ability to coach and mentor lower level mechanics.

Education Requirements

Completion of high school or equivalent (i.e., GED) is required.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving history. Class A Commercial Drivers License. ASE Certification a Plus. Certified welder a plus.
