Your Opportunity
This position is part of the Product Management & Marketing team, under Schwab Asset Management Solutions. The Product Management & Marketing team is responsible for the Alternative Investments and Structured Product programs at Schwab, with the goal of maintaining Schwabs leadership position as one of the premier destinations for alternative investing. This role supports both individual investors through the Investor Services channel as well as third-party registered investment advisors (RIAs) through the Advisor Services channel.

What you are good at

The Senior Product Manager, Complex Products will be part of a collaborative, high-performing team responsible for designing and building an outstanding client experience through strategic initiatives, product management and process improvement. You will manage platform and program enhancement projects, identify and add products to the platform that meet client needs, and manage relationships with internal and external business partners. You will also be a key integrator of Alternative Investment and Structured Product initiatives across the firm, acting as a focal point and unifying force for critical partners across research, client segment owners, field & RIA support teams, marketing, sales, legal, compliance, operations, and more. You will work closely with internal business partners to identify opportunities and lead the implementation of strategic initiatives to address changing industry trends, evolve our business and economic model, pursue market growth opportunities and improve internal business processes and operations.

Responsibilities include:

* Drive a variety of high-impact cross-functional initiatives with the team to further elevate Schwabs client experience, and ensure a proactive approach to industry trends and dynamics
* Maintain strong relationships with alternative investment fund managers and structured product issuers to ensure we are adding relevant, timely and competitive products to our platforms
* Develop strategies for and participate in contract negotiations with fund companies
* On-board new structured products and alternative investment funds to the platform
* Develop, position, and implement new products and product enhancements, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision and working closely with sales, service, field and client experience to ensure client experience goals are met
* Respond to inquiries from channel partners and RIAs with timely and complete information
* Build and maintain a strong network of business partners internally and externally, and partner with them on challenges, opportunities, and solutions
* Develop positioning for products and platforms, working closely with your team to outline key features, client benefits and competitive advantages
* Help define the product strategy and roadmap, taking into consideration how the product fits with other offerings at Schwab, its positioning in the marketplace, the client experience and the short- and long-term priorities of the organization

What you have

* FINRA Series 7 required
* FINRA Series 9/10 or 24 required
* 5+ years of alternative investment and structured product experience
* 3+ years product/program marketing experience in financial services
* Exercises excellent independent decision making and problem-solving skills
* Superior verbal, quantitative, organizational, presentation and analytical skills
* Collaborative skills and the ability to create followership; thriving on initiating, building and cultivating strong authentic relationships inside and outside the group; navigating and activating alignment across organizational silos
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including marketing/creative, copywriting, editing, and being able to synthesize data, develop compelling recommendations and present to management
* Display confidence and courage in business decisions, actions and communications with a demonstrated ability to take decisive action when needed, including championing ideas, position or dissent to best drive efficiency
* Self-motivated with solid judgment and the ability to think clearly and form a point of view
* Expertise in the competitive landscape of the financial services industry, especially as it relates to alternative investments and structured products
* Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects with short timelines; well versed at connecting strategic objectives to tactical implementation
* BA/BS degree required
