JOB DUTIES: The Eastern US Regional Rental Manager manages a cross-functional team of rental industry professionals. They are responsible for sales of Caterpillar small construction equipment to the dealerships Cat Rental Store Operation and implementation of strategic initiatives to improve the rental channel profitability and Cat dealers ability to improve customer satisfaction and execute the GRUES business models. The Rental Manager has direct responsibility for:

Business Plan

* Lead, Engage, Drive, participate, in the rental machine business planning process
* Lead, Engage, Drive, participate, in the Percent Rental Revenue Share (PRROs) target setting process
* Ensure engagement in dealer forecasting process for rental machines in the S&OP process
* Meet or exceed ST 5 business plan for BCP products (Small construction products)
* Ability to manage sale variance to target spend while achieving business plan

Business Model Execution

* Counsel dealer on Caterpillar rental configurations best suited for the rental industry and resale
* Managing dealers operational development through executing Rental Certification Process
* Managing the implementation of long-term Rental Business Planning through Leadership Tables
* Analyzing business systems and developing and/or assessing business needs for Caterpillar support
* Manage projects and activities to support Regions, Districts and Dealers
* Work with Global Rental & UE department to develop and introduce initiatives to dealers

Management

* Responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates.
* Develop people to understand the Rental & Used Equipment business.
* Leadership Tables participation for assigned dealers

The goal is to grow the rental business through profitable processes and correct financial structure. This will encourage dealers to purchase additional units for their rental operations and build population by rolling out rental units. The level of expertise and competence varies at each dealer and must be evaluated by a rental professional. Individual programs must be built and tailored to each dealer based on the competency of their personnel and the level of rental competitiveness in the market.

This position works with multiple internal departments to guide business model execution as well as to advise and assess dealer rental investments, financial performance and market effectiveness.

Basic Requirements:

* The position requires a college or university degree or 8+ years of job-related experience in lieu of degree
* 10+ years of OEM and/or rental industry experience

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

* Extensive experience dealing with dealer operations, OEM operations, and financial metrics
* Exhibited leadership experience through direct supervision or equivalent
* Demonstrated a talent for creative problem-solving and developing productive inter-departmental relationships

Additional Information:

* Remote locations are acceptable for this role; however, you must reside in the Eastern US region to be considered.
* Relocation assistance is provided for this role; however, you must relocate to the Eastern US region.
* Travel for the role will be 50% or more
