The Boeing In-Space Vehicles Engineering organization is seeking a highly motivated Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to join the Space and Launch Satellite Engineering team located in El Segundo, CA. This candidate will be a part of a high-performing engineering team that is immersed in development, verification, and validation of dynamic loads. The candidate will assist in defining mechanical system requirements and developing test plans for hardware (including full spacecraft). This role will include accountability for Satellite Mechanical Design and Analysis Engineering across Government and Commercial Satellite Programs. The candidate should have a background in mechanical systems design and analysis. The candidate must exemplify the Boeing Values in day-to-day operations.

The structural dynamics team provides engineering support on a variety of In-Space Vehicles products. This position offers the opportunity to be hands-on with flight hardware. This role will include accountability for structural dynamics engineering team across Government and Commercial Satellite Programs. Ideal candidate should have structural dynamics testing, structural analysis, and leadership experience.

Position Responsibilities Include:

* Lead development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design
* Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment
* Guide product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance
* Lead development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
* Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
* Support in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements
* Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort
* Work under minimal direction

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

* Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
* 3+ years of experience or a basic understanding of Shock and Vibration testing principles
* Knowledge or experience using NASTRAN and PATRAN finite element modeling software

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

* Currently have or have you held an active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months
* Experience with Statistical Energy Analysis tools and methods (e.g. VA/One, etc.)
* Experience in a leadership role, leading teams or projects to successful completion

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
