The Enterprise Transportation, Warehousing, and Logistics organization is seeking an Experienced Packaging Engineering Specialist to support the Boeing Global Services division. With a focus on innovative services, the successful candidate will support Supply Chain stability and first time quality by ensuring all Boeing products are preserved, packaged, handled, and transported properly until required for use.
This position is based out of St. Louis, Missouri.
Position Responsibilities:
* Document & retain packaging instructions and coding of packaging procedures
* Maximizes efficiencies and implements improvements for cost effective worldwide distribution and storage by considering practical packaging and/or handling applications
* Provides logistics support by developing warehouse material flow, equipment layout and capital budgets for project execution
* Assists in calculating volume, storage requirements, quantity and type of storage and handling equipment needed for high efficiency, low cost operations
* Oversees the training and compliance associated with the receiving, storing and shipping of hazardous materials (dangerous goods)
* Evaluates, classifies and develops packaging instructions for hazardous materials
* Plans the markings, labeling, packaging, and documentation for shipments in compliance with Federal, State, and International regulations
* Maintain logistics systems; coordinate maintenance and repair of packaging assets and equipment
* Evaluate, classify, design, develop, and test packaging for parts protection
* Support development of new product offerings or business opportunities

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
* 3+ years of experience reading, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
* 3+ years of experience with military and commercial packaging, handling, shipping and transportation of equipment and Dangerous Goods
* 3+ years of experience with Unigraphics (UG)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
* Degree or certification in packaging, supply chain, material science, environmental safety, or related field
* Access or advanced excel skills
* Advanced skills in hazardous identification and dangerous goods in transportation 49CFR and IATA regulations
* Experienced using Mil-Std-2073 military packaging and marking codification
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
