Responsible for leading teams or individuals indirectly, accountable for developing, defining, monitoring and changing policies and processes to support the American Express Global Network. Employees in this role belong to one or more of the following Network job families: Standards , Policy Security, Process Owner and/or Strategy.

Responsibilities:

The manager will be responsible for driving data capability and analytics initiatives in support of the Global Network Business, with an emphasis on root cause analysis. The incumbent must possess excellent analytical, technical and project management skills and be able to work proactively and independently to complete projects on time and accurately. The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic environment is essential.

Specifically, this role will:

* Analyse large data to identify root cause of data integrity concerns using Hive Big Data queries
* Partner across the enterprise to define various user data requirements and key metrics
* Develop reporting for key metrics based on relevant historical and categorical data aggregations
* Develop, manage and enhance a suite of Tableau workbooks and dashboards, including access controls
* Create insightful Tableau visuals and email alerting highlighting escalating activity
* Work with technical team to engineer and deliver data to Tableau dashboards to minimize load time

Minimum Qualifications

* Minimum 2 years of experience with analysis of large data files
* Minimum 2 years of advanced Hive/SQL experience is required
* Minimum 1 year experience developing production Tableau dashboards is required
* Excellent analytical abilities and a high level of curiosity
* Demonstrated skills creating simple visuals for complex, segmented data in Tableau visuals
* Strong self-starter and organizational skills
* Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills

Preferred Additional:

* Knowledge of credit card business and Payment networks, platforms, and procedures highly preferred

Educational requirement:

* Bachelors Degree in analytical field or extensive related work experience
