About the Job:
As a UI/UX Developer within General Motors; you will be responsible for leading a development team and ensuring that software is designed and developed using sound, repeatable, industry standard methodologies. You will work in a technical management role as well as perform hands-on planning, architecture, and design as required. Additionally, you will provide oversight to development activities to ensure the highest utilization of resources toward delivery of world-class capabilities aligned with GM corporate and business direction. This position will enable you to advise, coach/mentor development teams and will review the software being developed to insure the highest standards. Part of your goals will be to be excellent in code quality, performance, stability, security and general delivery to requirements and project timing. You must be comfortable leading highly technical teams through the software development lifecycle (SDLC) utilizing industry standard/best practice for software development approaches to be successful in this position.
Core Responsibilities:
* Leads teams developing applications using a variety of tools, languages, frameworks and technologies
* Leads concurrent projects and/or initiatives within GM
* Ability to handle issue resolution and remove roadblocks by navigating complex corporate environments and processes
* Understands UI / UX design and solution delivery
* Oversees integration efforts of software or solutions with existing software/systems
* Understands UI code quality analysis results and remediation mechanisms
* Provides advice and technical support for various projects within their domain
* Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Possess technical writing knowledge around system design specification and user documentation of software systems
* Understands and maintains compliance with GM standards and industry standard methodology
* Provides career guidance and mentoring of software developers.
* Assures that team adheres to all GM Resource Requirements such as Timekeeping, Project Management and Training
* Assists with identifying/selecting the best talent
* Responsible for directing work, managing performance and providing guidance / coaching to team members
* Leads the culture within their team, holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and cultural behaviors

Additional Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree or equivalent
* 7 years of experience as a Software Developer, specializing in UI / UX design and solution delivery
* Experience working directly with Business Subject Matter Experts and Business Analysts in a fast-paced development environment
* Demonstrable understanding of visual and user experience design disciplines and principles
* Familiarity with User Interface Design concepts and best practices, knowledge of common UI patterns
* Experience with CSS/Sass/LESS including concepts like flexbox, grid systems, responsive design, CSS Grid, mobile-first
* Experience with frameworks like Bootstrap and Material UI
* Experience with Angular and/or React
* Proficient Excel skills, especially with pivot tables, charts, and graphical data representation
* Proven ability to collaborate and build strong partnerships
* Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to set own priorities
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills; must be able to analyze large data sets and system's logic to identify areas of improvement and recommend solutions
* Effective at working independently and with large cross-functional teams with little formal guidance
* Excellent self-starter who possesses extraordinary time management skills and has great attention to detail
* Skillful at taking the initiative to investigate and resolve complex setup and systems logic issues
* Effective at leading demonstrations for business partners after development has been completed in a sprint
* Experience with Agile, Scrum, or Iterative development and project methodologies
* Excellent communication skills, expected to participate in User Story Review meetings with business partners and developers
* Willingness to mentor junior developers and enforce consistency in UI design
Preferred Qualifications:
* Extensive knowledge of the Siebel Automotive/Dealer applications, including globalization, localization, multi-org
* Knowledge of Microsoft CRM Dynamics applications
* Knowledge of Oracle Knowledge applications
* Solid project management skills, including the ability to work with a PM or Scrum Master to establish project plans, track open issues, communicate project updates and manage project deadlines independently
* Excellent negotiation, facilitation and listening skills
* Experience with working with User Experience team to design UI applications
* Experience with supporting various testing methodologies, including automated testing
* Strong process knowledge of CRM business operations, especially related to Contact Center or GM Field Representative needs
* Strong knowledge and use of ADO/TFS for requirement documentation
* Experience creating wireframes/mockups with tools like Balsamiq
*Work location flexible - open to candidates in Austin, Arizona, and Georgia
