Role description and opportunities

The Content Specialist is a savvy and creative digital storyteller who will help drive the coordination, development and optimization of content across BNY Mellons internal and external channels. This individual will coordinate with colleagues -- as well as subject matter experts -- to plan, execute and optimize content. The ideal candidate will have experience using content management systems and a deep understanding of content strategy across all channels including social, website, newsroom, intranet and digital signage. The position sits within our enterprise-wide Corporate Communications team and reports to the Head of Content Strategy.

Key responsibilities include the following

* Plans and oversees the optimization of content in a variety of engaging formats (e.g. articles, videos, executive blogs, infographics, social posts, etc.).

* Provides strategic input, creates content, manages approval process and executes digital campaigns across BNY Mellons most visible digital channels including the newsroom, website, social media, intranet and digital signage.

* Identifies and advocates for the adoption of digital content best practices. Stays current on new technologies, best practices and industry trends and advocates for the adoption of innovative strategies and solutions.

* Establishes content guidelines and provides direction to content creators across the company.
t
* Ensures consistency in brand voice and visual style across all digital channels.
t
* Utilizes content managements systems and tools to coordinate and schedule content.
t
* Supports employee social media advocacy and provides guidance and training to executives and other employees interested in leveraging digital media for business purposes.
t
* Analyzes metrics, shares insights and adjusts plans with a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

A successful candidate should ideally have these qualifications

t
* Strong mix of creative, analytic and strategic skills with demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts into compelling digital storytelling.
t
* Savvy, creative and technically skilled in the use of content management platforms, as well as design tools such as InDesign, Illustrator and/or PhotoShop. Video production and editing skills a plus.
t
* Versatile writer skilled at tailoring content to audience and channel.
t
* Strong collaboration skills, team-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
t
* High degree of attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to analyze, critique and offer recommendations for improvement.
t
* 5-7 years of related content strategy experience.
t
* Bachelors degree required.
