Compliance Director- Head of Governance, Governance & Risk Architecture

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have experience in both designing and executing global governance frameworks and infrastructure. He/She will have familiarity with Compliance processes including Regulatory Change Management, Risk Assessment and Monitoring and Testing. The successful candidate must have the ability to excel in complex and challenging situations, the ability to manage initiatives across all three lines of defense and experience across all levels of stakeholder management, including interfacing with regulators and enforcement authorities. He/She will have a demonstrated track record as a business partner, and success in striking balance between business imperatives and risk/compliance/governance/controls. This is an opportunity to join BNYM to contribute to the transformation and elevation of compliance risk management. This role will report to the Global Head of Governance and Risk Architecture (GRA).

Key responsibilities include the following:

* Drive the design and implementation of a sustainable global Compliance Governance framework that encompasses regulatory change, compliance risk assessment and monitoring and testing

* Develop governance infrastructure including committees, policies, communications, reporting and training to support the new governance framework
t
* Lead a small team to facilitate the governance and impact of regulatory change and compliance risk identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting across the global organization
t
* Serve as a thought leader on emerging compliance risks
t
* Ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness in organizational management of regulatory change and compliance risks
t
* Work closely with the Office of Regulatory Relations to manage relationships with regulators
t
* Drive implementation of standardized tools and templates in the global execution of regulatory change. Define and implement escalation criteria and processes to ensure issues and risks are escalated timely and reporting to the regulators occurs appropriately and consistently
t
* Design and drive the development of dashboards for senior management that enable ad global, organization wide view of the regulatory landscape
t
* Provide support to the Global Head of GRA in drafting Response Letters and ensuring quality of the response to regulators.

Qualifications

t
* 15+ years of relevant experience in a senior leadership role
t
* Knowledge of the financial services/asset servicing industry is preferred
t
* Experience with governance in a complex, global regulatory environment
t
* Strategic and forward-looking leader excited to embrace and lead change, inspire and motive talent, implement compliance best practices, and work collaboratively to strengthen compliance risk management
