The Global Head of Fund Tax Services Product is a leadership role within the Asset Servicing Global Tax & Regulatory Product team.
This role will have global responsibility for the BNY Mellons Fund Services Tax Products with direct responsibility for a team of 10+ Tax product colleagues and indirect oversight of the Fund Tax Services in Operations and Technology.
This role has specific responsibility for the fund tax services functions managing product, research, risk and quality assurance. Providing leadership and oversight to a global team responsible for owning and developing tax products, creating efficiencies, minimising risk and improving the client experience the individual must be able to lead global programs, and develop new revenue generating services.
The role is a first line of defence role as regards to tax technical changes in fund tax services and the successful candidate will be fully accountable for tax product, tax research, service assurance and risk.
Responsibilities:

* Define the Fund Tax Services product strategy and develop a long-term product plan, promoting the product and organisation through thought leadership activities.
t
* Develop Fund Tax Services products end-to-end. Leading global programs to enhance the tax service offering with a focus on technology and workflow change to improve the process and the client experience. Setting pricing strategy for product line.

* Own internal policies and procedures for governing the introduction of new/revised tax changes including monitoring and communicating tax change activities and oversight of service providers.

* Responsible for the consistent application of the Tax Risk Framework to encompass KPIs/KRIs to track performance and governance and control framework for LOBs tax policies.

* Maintaining tax compliance with respect to BNY Mellons responsibilities toward tax authorities and clients.
t
* Active membership, chairing and participation in Tax Committees of the relevant Industry Associations and speaking at external industry conferences and BNY Mellon lead events.

* Manage the Fund Tax Services tax team
t
* Work closely with Operations functions (Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, Alternative Investment Services) to communicate any changes which impact the day-to-day servicing of clients from a tax perspective and to roll-out tax product developments.

* Liaise regularly with other Tax and Regulatory team members to coordinate client responses and product development

* Deliver ad-hoc internal training where necessary.

* Ensure that products are fully approved in accordance with policy to include relevant pricing and risk reviews.

* Hold regular meetings with clients to review tax changes and to understand their requirements and lead relevant RFPs.

* Arrange thought leadership seminars with clients, write white papers, articles for external publications as relevant.

* Liaise directly with the relevant tax authorities on tax changes and proposals and consultation responses.
Qualifications
Requirements:

* Extensive fund services tax experience (at least +15 years) in the Investment Services or Asset Management business or in Tax Advisory. Particular experience in the areas of US Fund Tax administration services, Wash Sales, Capital Gains Tax, Investor Tax Reporting, FATCA, Common Reporting Standards, Tax Transparent Fund Structures and ETF tax considerations.
