Job Summary

This Sr. Systems Administrator is primarily responsible for providing technical leadership to Systems Administrators and providing support to end users as cases are escalated from the Help Desk. Systems Administrators triage all Helpdesk cases that are escalated from the Help Desk, work directly with end users on solving technology issues, and are responsible for escalating to and working with ABM IT Systems Engineers (Senior Systems Engineers) and Architects when issues appear systemic or cannot be resolved and potentially require escalation to the software or hardware vendor.

This position will also test and implement new software and/or hardware and assist Senior Systems Engineers and other ABM IT Staff & Management, as directed. The Sr. Systems Administrator will also document, monitor, and report on Systemic Issues and work with the appropriate IT staff and management to reproduce issues and resolve them.

Primary Responsibilities

* Point of escalation for other Systems Administrators
* Document, monitor, report, and manage the resolution of Systemic Issues
* Provide 2nd level technical support to end users when cases are opened with the Helpdesk
* Configure, Support & Perform Windows Server 2003-2019, including Citrix, VMware, print, DNS, WSUS and DHCP services as directed
* Perform patch management on scheduled weekends
* Rack & Stack, prep & configure physical servers
* Responsible for manual account provisioning and use of provisioning tools
* Install, configure, and support other technologies, as directed
* Provide Active Directory, SharePoint, and Exchange Server 2010/2013 and online Administration
* Install, configure, and update server hardware and software
* Assist in the identification of new user needs or program enhancements
* Write, review and/or maintain technical documentation for product environments as assigned
* Recommend settings changes to the Windows Operating System to improve performance and reliability

Additional Responsibilities

* Work with ABM IT Project Management Office (PMO) on all assigned projects, when directed by your Manager
* Work with ABM IT Audit & Security, where needed, in investigations and/or audits of systems, when directed by your Manager
* Work with 3rd party vendors to complete projects or troubleshoot issues, as assigned
* Report weekly status on projects to designated ABM IT management
* Attend weekly staff meetings
* Work with Senior Systems Administrators/Engineers and any required 3rd parties to troubleshoot issues
* Follow all Change Management Policies and Procedures
* Other duties as assigned

In addition to regularly scheduled hours and responsibilities, the Sr. Systems Administrator will be frequently required to assist on special projects and emergencies. This includes, but is not limited to, scheduled evening or early morning maintenance in the Data Center and emergency response at any time (24x7x365). These additional responsibilities are an essential function of the job and are required to ensure continuous operations and minimize disruption to end-users.

Minimum Requirements

Education, Required Skills & Competencies

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field desirable
* Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist certification is desirable
* VMware certifications desirable
* 7 years experience in supporting Windows 2003-2019 and Citrix required
* 2 years experience with VMware vSphere, O365/Azure
* 2 years experience with Microsoft System Center suite a plus
* Strong knowledge of Windows and Networking required
* Strong problem solving and logic skills required
* Strong organizational skills required
* Knowledge in Microsoft Office 2019/365 required
* Knowledge of Veeam Backup Software
* Knowledge in VDI a plus
* Excellent verbal communication skills required
* Ability to work on projects in team setting
* Ability to communicate program standards and requirements to contractors
* Ability to communicate and work with end users with minimal computer experience
