Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements to meet business growth, quality and scalability goals. Engages with other departments to better understand business requirements and collaborate on solutions. Researches best business practices within and outside the department to establish benchmark data.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity, reduced cost and risk mitigation.

Designs, documents, and implements department processes and procedures to meet internal policies or operating practices, measure outcomes to monitor effectiveness.

Provides process improvement support or technical assistance to departments, teams, and stakeholders to ensure accuracy and consistency across all business processes and determines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes.

Understands the department's business and how it is aligned to various business functions. Assesses ways to better align business processes, procedures, and information flow to meet end users needs with an emphasis on process integration, process improvement, non-value activity avoidance and sustainable cost savings.

Partners with stakeholders to develop process specification documents in collaboration with document owners. Provides appropriate updates and maintenance of the process inventory and documentation of process inventory integration points.

Leads the planning and development of process improvement working sessions as needed to create business process efficiencies and identify sustainable value-driven opportunities.

Acts as a liaison with project managers to develop overall plans and report progress and status against the consolidated work plan. Ensures proper documentation of risks, assumptions, issues and decisions related to process integration and escalates key issues regarding project challenges and performance gaps to appropriate levels for visibility and resolution.

Assists with developing metrics to measure compliance to process integration results and the downstream sustainable value of completed charters and projects.

Ensures Business Process Management (BPM) methodology standards are adhered to across business process deliverables. Deliverables include matured process specification documents, process maps, RACI matrices, related business requirements to support the process and metrics designed to measure sustained value and process improvements.

Ensures affected process are maintained within applicable governance structures, regulatory commitments and customer requirements.
