Our security team is responsible for monitoring, assessment, and defense of enterprise information systems for TDS, TDS Telecom, OneNeck IT Solutions, and Suttle Straus. NOTE: We are open to filling this position in, or near, any of our physical office locations: Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; Eden Prairie, MN; Urbandale, IA; Denver, CO or Scottsdale, AZ. Remote work arrangements outside our office locations will also be considered.

Responsibilities

The IT Security Analyst focuses on the assessment, detection, containment, and remediation of IT threats. This position manages security events for the enterprise, including some customer environments, ensuring they are properly identified, analyzed, communicated, actioned/defended, investigated and reported. The IT Security Analyst also monitors applications to identify a possible cyber-attack or intrusion (event) and determines if it is a real, malicious threat (incident), and the potential for business impact.

This position assists with the establishment and maintenance of processes and engages with other teams where appropriate to perform assessments of new technology and vulnerabilities, investigation of potential security incidents, and remediation of associated risks and compromises.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree in related field (i.e. Computer Science, Information Systems, IT Security, Engineering) -OR- 4+ years equivalent combination of technical and functional experience
* Must possess a passion for information security and be self-motivated in keeping up with the latest technologies

Other Qualifications:

* Basic knowledge of any of the following:
* Variety of network protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, FTP, SFTP, ATM, SNMP, SMTP, SSH, SSL, VPN, RDP, HTTP and HTTPS
* Operating Systems (Windows, Unix, Linux, OSX, Android, and iOS)
* Cloud platforms and software as a service
* Network security assessment tools (e.g., Nessus, nmap, netcat, nbtscan, Wireshark, kismet, Snort, metasploit, etc.)
* Network and systems penetration testing
* Internet protocols (FTP, HTTP(S), DNS and SMTP), firewalls, and SSL /IPSec VPN technologies
* Security issues and techniques across various computer platforms
* Excellent relationship building skills with strong issue resolution and conflict management
* Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in technical and non-technical terms, at all levels, both within and outside the organization
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Knowledge of security attacks and techniques across various computer platforms
