Senior Controls Analyst, Controls and Compliance

Summary:
The Senior Controls Analyst position is part of the Controls & Compliance (C&C) team within Stanly Black & Deckers Global Accounting & Controllership organization and reports directly to the Global Senior Manager, Controls & Compliance. Stanley Black & Decker has a global footprint, and as a result, the C&C team works with various functions and management levels across the Companys Global Tools & Storage, Security, and Industrial segments.
Controls & Compliance Key Focus Areas:
* Governance: Own the Global Control Frameworks
* Control Monitoring: Monitor controls for adherence to and deviations from their intended levels of performance (2nd Line of Defense)
* Control Execution: Lead execution of various control activities
* Analytics & Automation: Support implementation of key improvement & transformation initiatives

Primary Responsibilities:
* Partner with C&C Data Analytics team to develop analytics and automation solutions for Continuous Monitoring over processes and controls
* Perform assessments/testing of controls (design and operating effectiveness)
* Develop/update test plans to result in increased reliance by external audit
* Collaborate with various functions and management levels to understand business process and control changes and analyze the impact to control environment
* Provide analysis to stakeholders on control gaps and collaborate on resolving such gaps
* Monitor and/or execute various control activities to ensure compliance with frameworks and policies
* Governance of third-party service providers supporting Controls & Compliance
Additional Responsibilities:
* Assist the team with the maintenance of the Global Control Frameworks (Entity Level Controls, Business Process Controls, etc.)
* Identify control rationalization opportunities
* Assist the team in updating/reviewing finance and accounting policies
* Assist the team with ad-hoc projects
Education/Experience:
* BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
* Advanced Degree, CPA, CMA, or CIA a plus
* 3+ years of experience with Sarbanes Oxley 404 & 302 compliance, Internal Audit or External Audit (Big 4 preferred)
* Knowledge of accounting (U.S. GAAP), financial processes, and control frameworks (SOX, COSO, etc.)
* SAP experience a plus
* Relevant Industry (manufacturing) experience a plus
* Ability to independently manage and successfully execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced, continuously-changing environment
* Strong oral and written communication skills (experience with PowerPoint preferred)
* Passion for excellence and continuous improvement
* Strong competency with advanced spreadsheet applications (Excel)
* Analytics/Automation tools knowledge a plus (Alteryx, PowerBI, Automation Anywhere etc.)
