Leads a highly skilled team of Market Research Analysts (including technical and research managers). Sets the overall standards for the work product of the team. Manages the teams priorities and work assignments. Ensures the team uses sound research methodologies to achieve the desired results. Oversees that the team delivers the highest quality work product within budget and on schedule. Offers insights and findings to management in a clear and effective manner. Supervises the collection and communication of information on competition and markets to company management and to the greater corporation (including sales). Is responsible for all competitive research projects from small to large scope. Will regularly prepare and/or give presentations which may include project updates and results to management (including the executive levels of the organization). This position can be based remote within the United States.

Essential Functions:

* Serves as Team Leader of competitive research function
* Has primary responsibility for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, pay reviews and professional development of personnel in the department
* Sets the standard, methodology and sometimes directly performs a variety of research projects and market/competitive analysis
* Oversee primary research as required
* Uses project management skills and techniques
* Develops executive presentations, analyses and reports as required
* Assists marketing, sales, engineering and executives with competitive research needs
* Sets the standard and leads the team on internal/external financial data analysis
* Coaches and guides the team and others in competitive research techniques, data analysis and the proper use of data
* Lead matrixed project teams to complete research projects as necessary

* Capable of understanding, discussing and communicating engineering and high-tech topics with associated marketing and strategic planning strategies
* Develops sound research methodologies and practices

Education and Experience Requirement:

BS in Engineering or Science preferred or a

Bachelors degree with a focus in: Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing

Masters level degree preferred

Technical or engineering knowledge or experience preferred

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Moderate travel may be required
