This position will be at Microns Northern Virginia facility in Manassas, where Micron will invest $3 billion dollars to expand production. As part of the expansion, Micron will establish a global research and development center in Manassas for memory and storage solutions primarily focused on the automotive, industrial and networking markets.

Title:

Incoming Quality Material Engineer

Job Description: As an Incoming Quality Material Engineer at Micron Technology Inc., you are responsible for the design, implementation, and monitoring of control and mitigation plans to reduce risk to product from incoming materials. You will be responsible for maintaining a risk assessment of incoming materials, and leading multi-functional improvement teams to reduce this risk. This includes, but is not limited to, hosting meetings with suppliers, proposing capital plans to global teams, leading the implementation of global findings locally, and researching and proposing new global initiatives. This team member will benefit from knowledge in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials engineer, and semiconductor processing.

Job Responsibilities:

Quantify risk to product from incoming materials.

Lead identified risk reduction projects.

Lead implementation of key global projects for detection and mitigation.

Design and Improve tracking of compliance to control plan.

Research best solutions for control plan gaps, such as instrumentation and filtration technologies, and propose solutions for global alignment, capital, and pilot programs.

Required Skills:

Technical understanding of raw materials and the background to predict the effect of impurities on production with process experts.

Can demonstrate effective collaboration with others.

Versed in problem solving methodologies such as 8D.

Knowledgeable of FMEA and Control Plan Operations.

Self-disciplined to keep organized and track multiple plans.

Tenacious approach to learning, and process improvement.

Education and Experience:

MS degree in Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, Material Science or 5 years experience working in relevant field.
