Your Role
Invesco is looking for an experienced candidate with investment and ESG subject matter expertise who can work with both the Invesco Global ESG team and the global fixed income team to support the fixed income group in systematic integration and engagement as well as specialist insights on thematic issues and sectors.
You will be responsible for:
Producing proprietary ESG company level research with emphasis on investment relevance.
Leveraging internal and external tools to produce research.
Generalist research coverage globally and across fixed interest including investment grade, high yield, sovereign.
Leading regular ESG review meetings with the portfolio managers on ESG issues
Producing sector level ESG analysis on specific areas of interest across fixed income investment teams
Monitoring company activities on an on-going basis and keeping abreast of event risks
Engaging in dialogue with companies on specific ESG related agenda items
Engaging with companies and sovereigns on ESG matters
Collaborating with other investors on thematic areas of interest via networks and forums
Analyzing environmental and socially related issuance against a proprietary research framework
Effective internal dialogue with investment teams on ESG company and sector research as well as portfolio level view of ESG performance
Training on tools and systems on ESG and inputting to overall team effort on ESG research
Contributing to special projects and other team activities
Data governance
Provide any other assistance relating to the above or as reasonably required by the role.
Ensure all activities are in line with Invescos Conduct principles
Assisting client facing ESG experts on improving current ESG policies, data collection and reporting processes.
Supporting external communication to investors and stakeholders
The experience you bring:
Experience in fixed income ESG research
Experience in ESG strategy development and implementation.
Experience in ESG reporting and development of measurement frameworks.
Commercial, creative, and pragmatic thinking about improving ESG practices.
The ability to work autonomously with a hands-on approach.
The aptitude to excel in a multi-layered organization
Strong written and verbal communication skills, collaboration and influencing skills, and demonstrated leadership skills.
Ability to present effectively before senior management and to work effectively across multiple levels and types of employees.
Strong analytical skills.
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and other business technologies an absolute must.
Project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities at once.
Knowledgeable in global standards related to socially responsible/ESG investing and reporting including but not limited to ICMA Green and Social Bond Principles, UN Sustainable Development Goals, UN Principles for Responsible Investing, Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures, UNEP Finance Initiative, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board, and the Global Reporting Initiative.
