Job Purpose (Job Summary):
As a Division Associate Intern, you will work with internal and external partners in multiple regions across the country to help develop and prospect new relationships with financial advisors.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
* Develop and execute sales plan strategies with the primary focus of prospecting new business
* Identify sales opportunities and advisor needs, cross-sell ideas and introduce new concepts
* Develop asset allocation strategies based on client objectives and risk tolerances
* Analyze regional/product sales trends within participating broker/dealer firms and among individual financial advisors
* Work with various departments/individuals within the organization to provide Best in Class service to our financial advisors
* Handle daily administrative tasks to ensure maximum business efficiency, i.e. update and maintain contact management system
* Leverage analytical tools as an added resource to internal/external partners in developing portfolio construction ideas
* Complete internship with a better understanding of the Asset Management industry, specifically distribution
Work Experience / Knowledge:
* Basic understanding of mutual funds and financial markets
* Understanding of investment advisor relationships
Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:
* Strong analytical skills
* Comfortable working with technology
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)
* Rising senior or grad student entering final year of study
* Working towards a college degree in Finance, Economics or business discipline major preferred
Working Conditions:
* Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust and temperatures
* Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment
* The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 10 pounds is also necessary
