Description
We are currently seeking a Distribution Superintendent to be based out of our Fife, WA location. This position will report to the Associate Director, Operations Fife. The Distribution Superintendent is responsible for the day to day management of distribution operations in Fife. This position will have additional responsibility for distribution operations at our Portland, OR and Ferndale, WA terminals.
Responsibilities include implementing safety programs, new hire and annual training, meeting fixed and variable cost goals, compliance with quality assurance and government regulations, and maintaining tractor and trailer operability through PM and CM completion. This position requires a combination of office work and field work. Accessibility during off-hours (laptop and cell phone) is required.
Key responsibilities:
Manage all distribution activities
Coach team on safety and delivery performance
Take actions to improve efficiency of the fleet by reviewing KPIs
Ensure reliable supply to customers
Manage all maintenance activities for entire fleet
Hire, train and guide development of direct reports
Resolve customer delivery issues communicated by drivers, sales and logistics
Communicate daily with logistics regarding driver availability, equipment maintenance, over the road issues, etc.
Proficiency with computers, websites and standard software packages (MS Office, MS Teams, etc.)
Must have a professional and positive attitude, be able to quickly adapt to changing situations, have strong communication skills, be organized, have the ability and desire to work independently, and the skill set to be able to build and maintain productive relationships with local team and across departmental lines. Truck Maintenance experience preferred.
Qualifications
Distribution and Transportation experience required
Management experience in Union driver environment preferred
Distribution management experience of 10 years preferred
Truck Maintenance management experience over 5 years preferred
Excellent communication, team interaction and presentation skills
Self-starter, who is comfortable working independently, effectively manages multiple tasks and achieves results with minimal supervision
Proficiency with computers, websites and standard software packages (MS Office, Skype)
Class A CDL license a plus
