What does a great Unisys Senior Database Engineer do?

In this role you will be supporting the Cleartouch mainframe DMSII banking platform providing operational support for this system. Cleartouch is an online, real-time bank platform solution that provides integrated access to multiple delivery channels, customer activity and complete customer relationship information. Cleartouch is delivered in an outsourced environment and leverages service-oriented architecture (SOA) in the Fiserv enterprise services framework.

As a Unisys Senior Database Engineer, you can look forward to:

* Providing general DMS admin and support while updating and maintaining the production and test database environments.
* Ensuring the needs of the users and projects are consistently supported.
* Coordinating with Operations and Bank Solutions all database software maintenance.
* Logical and Physical Design and configuration of all Cleartouch DMSII databases.
* Preparing schedules for significant database implementation and support efforts.
* Capacity reporting and planning.
* Supporting recovery from loss of data & database disaster recovery planning.
* DMS trouble shooting, upgrades, patches & updates, WFL & program maintenance,
* Monitoring DMS database populations, backups, application installs, loads and garbage collects/set balancing
* Reorganizing, refreshing or defragmenting the database using appropriate tools.
* Providing DMS on-call, coverage for DR, PCI and other audits
* Performing Progeni Macro Directory generation.
* Supporting application development and deployment; resolving problems and answering inquiries related to the environment; contacting vendor support when necessary; facilitating application development and user problem resolution:
* Analyze, design, code and install database application releases.
* Maintaining the Unisys Documentation Library on SharePoint, while mentoring staff assuming responsibilities for Unisys systems utilities and tools.
* Leading day-to-day system support of the development and runtime environments and deployment efforts of projects, including database issue resolution
* Providing database environment support testing & corrupt data recovery.
* Identifying requirements for new databases or modified database and mainframe systems, mainframe to SQL host connectivity, DBA functions and SQL queries.
* Managing and implementing various encryption technologies to support PCI FFIEC directives.
* Consulting services to support the development of applications and the integration of third-party applications.
* Coordinating with team members of other existing application systems to establish data migration procedures as needed.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

* Associates Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar field of study.
* 5+ years Unisys DBA experience required
* Experience with Unisys DMSII database design, management, and support.

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:

* Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related field
* Unisys FS Style Mainframes.
* Progeni (Implementation. Maintenance and Management).
* Implementation and management of other database platforms if possible, ie SQL, Informix, Oracle.
* Experience with Storage Area Networks (EMC DMX , VNX, Isilon and VMAX).
* VMware , Hyper-V.
* Management of encryption and CAs (Certificate Authority).
* Unisys ClearPath systems: operating system, MCP, Cande, Coms, Marc, utilities, etc.
* Unisys ALGOL, WORKFLOW (WFL), DASDL and COBOL 74/85.
* Experience with Fiserv Cleartouch Banking Product (VISION).

Certifications (preferred):

* Unisys Database Management System DMSII
* SQL DBA
