About the Opportunity
This is an open position withFleet Operations, MonPower, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.[FOS]
Job Summary:
Performs duties in connection with the installation, removal, replacement, inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment associated with Power Generation, Distribution and Transmission. Operate equipment including but not limited to forklifts, skid steers and mini excavators. Form and place concrete. Install or repair fencing. Effectively assists higher-rated employees in the performance of such duties
Instructs and effectively directs other employees in the performance of any duties for which qualified.
Performs work of a lower classification; and performs other work, as assigned.
Work completely cross functional with the Mobile Maintenance Electrician.
This job will be based out of the Washington, PA.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must take and pass the Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) and Power Plant Maintenance Positions Selection System (MASS) test.
Must possess a two-year technical or applied science degree, applicable to the work, from an accredited college or university.
In lieu of the degree,
three years experience as a certified Journeyman, applicable to the work
equivalent military experience, applicable to the maintenance discipline, from any branch of the United States Armed Services
or three years related experience, applicable to the maintenance discipline, in a power producing utility or other process-related industry, including, but not limited to: paper mill industry, airline industry, chemical and petro-chemical industries.
Must be able to safely and satisfactorily perform all the duties of lower classifications.
Must possess a basic knowledge of steam electric generation, transmission and distribution.
Must be able to read schematics and experience in reading electrical drawings is preferred but not required
Ability to perform heavy physical work in a safe manner in accordance with the rules and regulations applicable to power stations and substations.
Ability to perform heavy physical work, climb structures, and work in high places. Mechanical aptitude for power station work or substation.
Mental ability to learn and perform the more complex duties of maintenance classifications.
Ability to prepare legible and accurate reports.
Must meet Company standards in regard to physical fitness, personal conduct and appearance, attendance, work performance, safety practices and supervision required.
Must have demonstrated a genuine interest in learning through individual and cooperative efforts the job requirements of this classification.
Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment related to this classification.
Job site reporting and out of town assignments and other special qualifications will be required for these positions.
