Job Summary

Provides functional and processing support to ensure the efficiency of computer operations. Monitor company operating system in a production environment to ensure maximum availability and reliability. Gathers information and tracks issues to determine root cause and identify reoccurring problems regarding production operations. Implements key business improvement initiatives for assigned work group(s). Utilizing business, leadership and technical skills, defines opportunities, analyzes data, designs production work flows, and improves business processes. Participates in strategy development and executes a plan to deliver process performance improvements related to quality, delivery, and cost.

Essential Functions

* Create operating procedures, disaster recovery procedures, and assist with hardware configuration planning
* Assume leadership role for problem determination, hardware customization, and installation planning
* Review and evaluate hardware products to determine the requirements for each and recommend the appropriate action
* Participate in problem and change management by responding to requests and incident reports in a timely fashion
* Remain knowledgeable on current technology to provide a source of information for strategic planning
* Develop metrics and related reports to measure improvement
* Lead improvement initiatives by enlisting and influencing cross-functional teams that deliver tangible business results through the application of process improvement methodologies and tools, including Lean/Six Sigma

Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used

* Customize hardware products
* Review standards
* Experience in evaluating hardware products
* Ability to communicate well and interact with people
* Able to influence change without direct authority
* Project management skills

Typical Education

* Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or the equivalent experience

Typical Range of Experience

* 5+ years experience in operational and process analysis and improvement
