Your key responsibilities

As a Senior in our Financial Service Private Client Services practice, you will be responsible for involvement with coordinating and innovating our entity service offering within Private Client Services. You would be involved in efforts to enhancing our service delivery model. Your day to day responsibilities will include working with a team, reviewing tax compliance and advisory work for private clients specifically as it relates to the entities. You will need to understand key client issues in partnership and foundation domestic federal, international and state and local taxation with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's personal and business objectives. You will work with Asset Management tax compliance accounts for Hedge Funds and or Private Equity Funds and Fund of Funds which involves the ability to review securities analysis, make appropriate tax adjustments, tax basis and provide guidance for the production and delivery of K-1s and partnership tax returns.

Skills and attributes for success

* Solid technical knowledge - you will have to review partnership and Foundation including Foreign filings.
* Experience with high-net worth individual and trusts/estate income tax returns preferred.
* Experience in economics of the engagement. Able to organize teams schedule, budget and fees for various clients assigned
* Ability to analyse trading reports for tax character and book tax differences, such as wash sales, constructive sales, straddles, and other securities issues
* Building impactful relationships with new and existing clients as well as building and maintains relationships with leadership; create a positive and trusting environment
* Ability to identify key tax technical issues and raise the appropriate questions and consult when necessary
* Researching tax issues to develop effective tax planning strategies and translate complex data from a range of sources into client-ready insights and deliverables
* Identifying and reacting to risks and opportunities to improve our services and processes

To qualify for the role you must have

* Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
* CPA license or a licensed Attorney eligible
* A minimum of 3 years of relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in Private Client, Family Office or the Wealth & Asset Management industry
* Familiarity with the financial services industry gained through direct involvement with managed investment vehicles
* Broad exposure to federal income taxation and some exposure to state and local tax
* Understanding of federal and state personal and trust income tax
* Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, and the confidence to challenge senior colleagues and stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds
* A thorough understanding of automated tax processing systems and laws within your area of technical professionalism

* Excellent managerial, leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
* Demonstrated business development skills
* A proven record in tax planning
* A proven record in a professional services environment
* Experience in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* The ability to adapt your work style to work with both internal and client team members
