Job Summary:

Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) brings together the Companys best-in-class product, technology, and commercialization teams together into one global organization. DMED manages operations of the Companys streaming services including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Disney+ Hotstar and Star; as well as all domestic broadcast and cable television networks. DMED is also responsible for the P&L management and all distribution, network and engineering operations, sales, advertising, data, and certain key technology functions worldwide for the Companys content engines.

DMEDs Internal Communications team develops strategic campaigns and communication vehicles to keep employees at all levels around the globe informed, engaged and inspired. With additional responsibility for corporate citizenship, internal events and support of Disney+, Hulu & ESPN+ media relations activities, this nimble, creative and optimistic team develops fresh ideas to move the companys culture and priorities forward.

Responsibilities:

As part of DMEDs Internal Communications team, the Communications Intern will be responsible for storytelling across Disneys internal platforms inclusive of researching, writing and publishing creative content. They will also be responsible for supporting a broad range of internal communications activities, assisting with event production, supporting the Companys Diversity & Inclusion efforts, helping maintain editorial calendars, updating internal websites and other ad-hoc projects.
Basic Qualifications:

* Proficient in Word, Microsoft Office and Outlook
* Writing samples of articles and/or other communications projects that demonstrates skills, creativity and mastery of grammar rules
* Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills working with colleagues across departments at all levels
* Enthusiastic, proactive, eager to learn and willing to take on new challenges
* Well organized, with strong relationship building and time management skills
* Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders, balance numerous projects simultaneously, prioritize deadlines and effectively work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to manage confidential information
* An appreciation for the Disney brand!

Preferred Qualifications:

* Proficiency with web, photo and other multimedia software (such as WordPress, etc.)
* Event planning or coordination a plus

Required Education

* Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last eighteen (18) months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program
* Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree or graduated with a major in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or related field

Additional Information:

* The approximate dates of this internship are May-August (flexible for June - Sept)
* Candidate must be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
* Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
* Must possess unrestricted work authorization
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Work Environment: This internship is a remote internship. The internship requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated work space and the ability to work independently
