Job Summary

The Creative Technologist, with Thrivents Experience & Innovation team, is hands-on in creating new and differentiated digital experiences with humans at the heart. They collaborate with cross-functional digital product teams anywhere between discovery and research processes and delivering digital products into market. Candidates must be eager to learn, excited by ambiguity, and able to skillfully contribute to the evolution of a fast-growing digital brand.

Job Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities

* Create world-class, user-centered digital products based on research, business needs, analytics & user feedback in an agile environment.
* Demonstrate experience at participating in white-boarding sessions, design thinking and story mapping exercises.
* Develop in code interaction flows of responsive web and mobile experiences.
* Develop conceptual POCs, testable prototypes, code accelerators, and production ready digital products.
* Participate in user testing to gauge the usability of new and existing products.
* Demonstrate careful attention to detail in delivering on-brand, high quality, digital experiences for web and mobile platforms.
* Work with atomic design code systems and corresponding specifications and documentation.
* Work on cross-functional teams to assess and optimize new and existing features and page templates.
* Give and receive feedback generously, advocate for quality, learn new tools and processes, grow your craft in new ways, and stay up to date on best practices.
* Present your ideas, come with a point of view, and be able to communicate your vision, ideas, process, and decisions.

Required Job Qualifications

* Portfolio of work that expresses your work and original approaches to the challenges. Applications without portfolios will not be considered.
* Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Digital Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or related fields.
* 3+ years of experience in a development track such as mobile, front-end, back-end, full-stack, etc.
* Experience in leveraging atomic design systems and pattern libraries.
* Experience in user-centered design and multidisciplinary teams creating experiences.
* Must have excellent User Experience and development skills and be able to communicate clearly and concisely through visual specifications.

Other Critical Factors

* Ability to extract complex concepts and quickly turn around rigorous flows, mockups and interactive prototypes reflecting a range of options.
* Ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously and multi-task in an agile environment.
