What will you do?
A challenging opportunity exists for an ambitious Finance professional to play a key role in driving the financial success of the Applied Analytical Technologies Business Unit within the Chromatography & Mass Spec Division (CMD). The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for performing analytics on revenue, margins, inventory, capital expenditures and headcount, as well as providing business partnering support to functional leaders. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Finance and works closely with the business unit leadership team.

* Contribute to the analytical process to drive impactful business decisions based on key performance indicators for a Strategic Business Unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific
* Partner with cross-functional business teams at various sites to manage functional spending reviews
* Advise management on key financial drivers including, but not limited to product vitality, expense management, service and commercial headcount efficiency metrics, and PPI opportunities.
* Help to implement pacing mechanisms with functional leaders for revenues, margins, inventory, capital expenditures and headcounts within a mixed system landscape
* Key involvement in the annual operating budgeting process
* Provide business intelligence on business unit performance, opportunities and challenges
* Contribute to dive deeps and complex analysis to understand variances to budget, prior quarters and prior years (bridges)
* Drive continuous improvement and standardization of reporting
* Perform or lead special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as required
* Establish credibility and act as a trusted business partner for functional leads
* Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required
* Recommends opportunities for financial improvements

How will you get here?

* Bachelor2019s Degree in Finance or Accounting
* 4+ years of relevant experience in a finance role with hands-on experience in providing financial analysis to drive key business decisions within the context of a matrix organization and/or corporate environment
* Systems experience, including, but not limited to: SAP, Hyperion Planning, CMR, MS Excel, and PowerBI
* Ability to work effectively with global and remote team
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interpret and summarize financial analysis results in a clear, concise, accurate manner
* Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with peers, and upper management
* Previous experience developing and implementing reporting processes preferred
* Self-motivated; bias for action
* Desire to formulate and drive process improvements, with confidence to challenge the status quo
* Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines
* High level of flexibility and strong work ethic with the goal to get the job done
