GROUP/DIVISION SUMMARY
The Procurement Business Partner is part of the Cell Culture & Cell Therapy (CCCT) business within our BioProduction Group (BPG), which supports developers and manufacturers of biological-based therapeutics and vaccines with a portfolio of premium solutions and services focused on upstream cell culture, downstream purification, analytics for detection and quantitation of process/product impurities, and a suite of single-use solutions spanning the biologics workflow. BPG is also at the forefront of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Procurement Business Partner to the Cell Culture-Cell Therapy (CCCT) business within BPG is the leader responsible for developing and driving the Procurement vision with key stakeholders in the Business Unit and Group, and will focus on strategy, execution, and implementation. In this position, you will facilitate the development and execution of long-term strategies that will optimize quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, and total cost. You will mitigate risk, leverage technology, improve processes and systems and reduce overall cost of ownership and acquisition.
In this position, you will lead the BPG Business Unit Procurement Leadership team in all aspects of procurement and support $1-2B in revenue. Directing a forward-thinking Procurement Team of Professionals, your responsibility will include strategic vision, operational planning, and execution. You will lead a team of Senior/Managers with Procurement professionals deployed in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. You will be responsible for sourcing and procurement processes, systems and results across the Business Unit to include strategy deployment and implementation, common process definition and deployment, procurement organizational development and leadership and delivery to support the company2019s business model, strategies and operating plans.
The Procurement Business Partner will continue the Company2019s evolution in best practice procurement capabilities and organizational development. Procurement activities will be driven from a Global perspective together with the Senior Director BPG Procurement and Business Unit Stakeholders to continue to maximize and leverage the overall effectiveness of supply.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establish and implement short and long-term goals, strategic plans, policies, and procedures for the Business Unit
* Deliver on key objectives (Annual Operating Plan - AOP), delivery, quality, service, cost, innovation, and growth commitments for BPG CCCT/SUT
* Develop and drive Procurement vision for, with and through stakeholder community within Business Units, on working closely with the Bio Production Group
* Understand long range strategic planning with the business partners across the BU and implement plans
* Provide BU level input to category strategies (Global, Group specific) and support implementation of aligned strategies
* Gather BU level requirements and assure compliance to regulatory requirements globally
* Partner with Category Managers, R&D, Engineering to deliver annual value improvements
* Drive and track compliance for indirect materials, as well as link with Global team for policies and procedures
* Ensure early engagement with New Product Development as required
* Serve as a BU escalation point of contact for Procurement
* Consolidate, analyze, and report on BU Procurement metrics for business reviews
* Collaborate and partner with the Enterprise processes such as Supplier Quality, Supplier Risk and Supplier Management
* Ensure category strategies support driving materials and products to low cost regions aligning with manufacturing strategies
* Lead coordination and collaboration across multiple site procurement teams, while ensuring resource productivity and procurement professionalism
Qualifications:
* A Bachelor2019s Degree in Supply Chain/Materials Management, Business Logistics, or a related area
* A minimum of 8 years of work experience, 5 years in Procurement and at least 2 years of past leadership experience in Procurement
* High level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (engineering, sourcing)
* Strategic influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders
