Job Description:
Position Summary
Responsible to supervise the day-to-day production activities to ensure to meet production demands in a timely manner and according to specifications and regulations, as well as productivity, sanitation, quality control and safety standards. Assist with maintaining facility functions in partnership with manager(s). Coordinate with the Safety and Training Supervisor within your location supporting the culture of safety and providing all associates proper training and development.
Education/Experience
* Bachelors in supply chain or equivalent work experience preferred.
* Knowledge of warehouse operations preferred.
* Supervisory experience in food service or warehouse preferred.
* General understanding of USDA regulations and OSHA requirements; ServSafe food safety certification preferred.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
Supervise the day to day production activities to ensure to meet production demands in a timely manner and according to specifications and regulations, as well as productivity, sanitation, quality control and safety standards. Work with cross-functional departments as it relates to ensure prompt and timely resolution of any issues.
* Monitor and report all KPI for associates
Create schedules and assign work to associates within the department to meet deadlines and ensure completion of workload and product orders; responsible for production activities (i.e., product procurement, preparation, production planning, packaging, labeling and selecting) and hours worked.
Provide excellent customer service; understand customer preferences, ensure proper quality and quantity of customer orders, ensure accurate order selection and care for products.
* Maintain a physical inventory of products, ensure proper slotting for product, and ensure proper completion of paperwork and purchase orders (POs).
Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness, and security of the work environment. This may include, but is not limited to:
Coordinate with the Safety/Training Supervisor for compliance with company procedures and governmental regulations (i.e., safety, sanitation, etc.)
Oversee and ensure the cleanliness of the work environment
Ensure proper maintenance of and report any issues related to equipment, and ensure proper training to operating and maintain mechanical equipment
Coordinate with Safety/Training Supervisor to reinforce safety and effective use of equipment and compliance with facility procedures regarding usage and traffic flow; and
Report and/or address any issues or work-related injuries and participate in any investigations as required.
Lead pre-shift meetings and ensure timely communication with associates on various topics Include Safety and Training Supervisor
Responsible for department management including staffing, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals.
Assist with maintaining facility functions in partnership with Safety Training Supervisor and manager(s).
Support Safety/Training supervisor with current knowledge of USDA regulations, federal inspections and sanitation regulations, industry trends and best food preparation practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes and to ensure company legal compliance. Maintain product knowledge to include sizes, varieties, sensitivity, location, and background of produce and USDA products.

Knowledge, Skills Abilities
Good verbal communication skills with ability to communicate, collaborate, and delegate efficiently with associates. Good organization, prioritization, decision-making and problem-solving skills. Must be able to multi-task and have good follow through to meet deadlines. Must have good leadership and training skills; ability to work with all levels of management and line associates. Must be able to learn/understand the machinery and have the ability to train associates on operating the machinery in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to work flexible hours based on business needs. Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required. Knowledge of food production, sanitation, and food safety procedures skills and procedures strongly preferred. Proficient with computers and related software.
Physical Requirement
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee will be exposed to various work environments (i.e., refrigerated/freezer coolers, wet, dry and/or humid) on a frequent basis. The noise level in the work environment varies; food production setting may be low to moderate; distribution center setting may be moderate to high.
