Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Leadership Training Program is an operations-focused, full time 18-month development program that provides on the job training and formal learning through a structured sequence of tasks designed to expose you to operations within the Company. While working through the three units of the program, you will learn the fundamentals of the business; develop your leadership skills in a fast-paced position; and establish close working relationships with executives, managers, employees and customers. The strong networking and leadership skills developed will enable you to grow your career and ultimately lead our team of dedicated professionals in one of the most stable industries across the country while making a difference in your community for generations to come.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Learn the leadership characteristics that support the Republic Values
* Commitment to safety and compliance
* Work with other managers to plan and direct the work of the organization.
* Receive instruction in subjects related to your rotational experience.
* Attend trainings, watch guest speakers, and develop presentation skills.
* Work in different departments to gain perspective, including operations, finance, sales, maintenance, and post collections.
* Adhere to guidelines of formal written training program.
* Attend periodic evaluations.
* Participate with management in interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
* Use company systems to analyze sales, gross profit and inventory activity.
* Work with management to develop and implement actions that protect company assets and profitability.
* Learn how to best support the planet through sustainable practices in waste and recycling

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Prior leadership experience highly desired
* Acute attention to detail
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
* Strong organizational, prioritizing, and multitasking skills
* Proven ability to make good decisions in a fast-moving environment
* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
* Basic understanding of business finance, controls, and metrics

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* B.A./B.S. degree required or will be granted by June 2021.

Republic Services, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, provides non-hazardous solid waste collection, transfer, recycling, disposal, and energy services for small-container, large-container, municipal and residential, and energy services customers in the United States and Puerto Rico. The company’s collection services include curbside collection of waste for transport to transfer stations, landfills, or recycling processing centers; supply of waste containers; and renting of compactors.

It is also involved in the processing and sale of old corrugated containers, old newsprint, aluminum, glass, and other materials; temporary waste and recycling collection services; and provision of landfill services. As of December 31, 2018, the company operated through 349 collection operations, 207 transfer stations, 190 active landfills, 91 recycling processing centers, and 11 salt water disposal wells, as well as 7 treatment, recovery, and disposal facilities in 41 states and Puerto Rico.It also operated 75 landfill gas-to-energy and renewable energy projects and had 129 closed landfills. The company was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona.
