The Content Strategist leads the tactical execution of content strategy. He/She supports multiple marketing initiatives through the development of content plans based on business objectives, audience insights, and content strategy. The Content Strategist collaborates with internal and external partners to plan, procure, develop, and manage high-quality content that is effective for the channel and the audience, enhances the customer experience, and builds the Publix brand. This role requires an analytical mindset to execute various content tactics while sourcing the most relevant internal or external resources.

Responsibilities:

* Support multiple marketing initiatives through the development of content and content plans based on business objectives
* Managing the procurement process for new content needs from outside suppliers
* Partner with the Manager, Content Strategy and internal teams to create a content development cycle that includes auditing, development, distribution, success metrics, archiving and other best practices
* Assisting the Manager, Content Strategy with developing content vision, roles and responsibilities, and content workflow
* Working on special Creative Services-related assignments.
* Interpreting, upholding, and championing Publix brand positioning.

Required Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree in English, Advertising, Journalism, Marketing, or Communications, or equivalent experience
* 3 years experience in a Marketing, Advertising, Strategy, or Communications role
* Knowledge of:
* Publix marketing objectives, brand identity standards, positioning statements, and corporate strategy
* user experience (UX) design and best practices
* emerging technologies that impact content strategy, creation, and execution
* content strategy best practices, principles, and methodology
* external content sources and ability to assess quality of content
* marketing channels including print, digital, and social media
* Skilled in executing content audits, customer journey mapping, content calendars, content processes and workflows, and content plans
* Outstanding command of the English language and strong editorial skills
* Verbal and written communication skills
* Creativity skills
* Ability to display teamwork/ collaboration
* Microsoft Office, including Excel
* macOS
* Adobe Creative Suite
* Digital Asset Management

Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree in English, Advertising, Journalism, Marketing, or Communications
* 3+ years experience as a Content Strategist, Content Marketing Specialist, Content Manager, or other marketing communications or cross-channel strategy experience

Lakeland Square, FL

Before Publix was founded in 1930, Mr. George worked at a Piggly Wiggly store in Winter Haven, Florida. While managing that store, the company experienced a change in ownership. Eager to introduce himself and share his ideas with the new owner, he traveled to Atlanta. The new owner declined to meet with Mr. George, stating he was tied up in an important business conference.

Mr. George left feeling disappointed. On his way back to Florida, he knew he wanted to build a company where everyone would have a voice and the doors to communication would always be open. He dreamed of creating a work environment where associates would feel respected and valued.

In 1930, his dream became a reality when he opened his first Publix and established a workplace with an open door of communication where his associates were encouraged to share their ideas, ask questions and talk freely with one another regardless of their level in management.
