Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

Pfizer is seeking a talented individual to join our ARD organization to enable development of biological therapeutics and vaccines. The Scientist position within the Bioassay and Impurity Testing Group will be responsible for supporting the development and lifecycle maintenance of bioassays (Nephelometry, ELISA, & Cell Based) used to evaluate the potency of biological candidates in clinical development. This position will provide laboratory support and contribute data and knowledge to the development of a diverse portfolio of biotherapeutics including monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins, vaccines, and other novel biological modalities. The successful candidate will have general knowledge of the development of immunoassays and cell-based functional assays.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

* Responsible for performing a variety of immunological and cell-based testing and applying these methods to a broad range of biotherapeutics.
* contribute to development/ optimization, qualification/ validation, transfer of cell-based assays and immunoassays.
* The candidate must be able to interact and communicate effectively with peers and leaders as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Documentation of analytical results according to cGMP practices.
* The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task are required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelors degree in biology, biochemistry, immunology or related field with 7+ years of experience, or MS degree with 5+ year experience developing cell-based assays and immunoassays for biotherapeutic drug candidates.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Experience with Quality Systems in a Good Manufacturing Practices environment
* Hands on experience or working knowledge in Pharmaceutical industry in handling of analytical instruments
* Good documentation skills with high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, team oriented, effective interpersonal and communication skills
