Job Description

Facebook is seeking a Technical Program Management Leader for Infrastructure Products to be responsible for highly scalable software programs that are reliable, efficient, and performant for users around the globe, 24x7. The core responsibility of this leader will be to support growth and development of Technical Program Managers as they drive planning, prioritization, program management, and delivery of best-in-class products. The ideal leader will bring web and large infrastructure environment experience spanning video, machine learning, storage, caching, network, or delivery systems, and an understanding of product management for complex platforms similar to Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus. Demonstrated experience supporting, developing, and growing teams is key. Additionally, the individual will have experience working with data (e.g. analytics, database query languages, data for product), and an ability to build influence by example.

Director, Technical Program Management, Infrastructure Responsibilities

* Build the operational backbone for Facebook Products to ensure operability within infrastructure. Drive the organization and cadence of work for every product and infrastructure discipline.

* Lead a technical delivery team through companywide initiatives from Idea-to-Customer, including driving healthy and transparent relationships with engineering and product organizations.

* Manage resource allocation and optimization your team for effective product delivery. Influence diverse stakeholders by forging relationships, demonstrating a commitment to strategic decision-making and product development.

* Define the roadmap and long-term strategy for both your team and the partner teams you manage. Articulate the technology, requirements, goals, and milestones for each project.

* Responsible for performance reviews, regular feedback, coaching, and career growth for direct reports.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of experience.

* 10+ years of software engineering, systems engineering or technical product/program management experience.

* 5+ years of experience managing teams of varying seniority, to include recruitment, development, and ongoing support.

* Experience driving engineering or product programs from concept to delivery, utilizing metrics, growth statistics, and return on investment to communicate impact. Proven understanding of the software-as-a-service business model and its development lifecycle.

* Experience structuring an organization that optimizes for execution, including attracting talent and building out gaps in the existing team.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in product management methodologies to include meeting the demands of the target market, ranking feature importance, and measuring success or failure.

* Experience with operating system internals, databases, filesystems, networking, and writing code. An understanding of machine learning or AI detection systems.
