Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Aeronautical Engineer based out of Clearfield, UT. The team is looking for a highly motivated aeronautical engineer with knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), heat transfer theory, structural analysis, natural and nuclear induced debris, thermal, radiation environment threats, hardening analysis of missile systems, and familiarity with composite and thermal protection system materials.

What You rsquo;ll get to Do:

Responsibilities may include designing, developing, and testing a variety of aircraft, missiles, and parts, taking into consideration the most efficient use of natural laws affecting flight, establishing structural specifications, performing stress analysis, and conducting performance tests.

Primary focus of position is to support the thermal/fluids analysis team supporting Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) threat analysis. Secondary focus may include simulations of fluid flow and heat transfer for composite manufactured parts and support equipment such autoclaves and ovens. Position includes working on a CFD/thermal analysis team with experienced engineers, applying skills for missile threat analysis, and performing heat transfer and fluid dynamic analysis skills to composite cure applications. Support may also include performing analytical thermal surveys of parts, developing flow models, and writing reports.

Position may require occasional domestic travel to other Northrop Grumman and customer sites (Less than 25% travel). Current DOD Secret Clearance is preferred but not required, but the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance is required.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

* 5 Years with a Bachelors in Science -OR- 3 Years with Masters -OR- 0 Years with PhD. in Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
* Demonstrated experience with heat transfer specifically relating to fluid flow
* Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance amp; Special Program Access

Preferred Qualifications:

* Current DOD Secret Security Clearance

* Aerothermal and environment heating

* Prompt radiation material response analysis

* Analytical erosion analysis

* Direct effect lightning simulation

* Composite thermal/structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience

* Structural Dynamics Analysis including Shock and Random Vibrations

* Experience with Matlab, ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+

* Material testing: test plans, test reports

* Experience following customer/internal specifications

* Knowledge of composite materials and thermal protection systems
