Northrop Grumman is currently conducting a search for a Corporate Counsel II, Investigations. Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel of Investigations, the successful candidate will be a self-motivated, senior attorney who will direct and conduct significant internal investigations, manage the company rsquo;s response to government investigations and subpoenas, provide analysis of complex and varied issues, and supervise outside counsel on matters relating to allegations of unethical, unlawful and/or fraudulent conduct. The issues are sensitive and confidential and often require interactions/negotiations with government officials to resolve. The ideal candidate has DOJ, Assistant U.S. Attorney or enforcement agency experience. This opportunity is also available in El Segundo, CA, Salt Lake City, Utah, Chandler, AZ.

Responsibilities and traits will include, but are not limited to:

* Direct and conduct independent investigations, manage responses to subpoenas, handle government investigations.
* Conduct analysis regarding potential disclosures under the FAR MDR and facilitate execution of any disclosure.
* Perform independent investigations, research, analysis and counseling regarding complex and significant issues.
* Interact and negotiate with representatives from various government agencies and officials including DOJ, DoD, DCIS, FBI, Congressional Staff and IGs regarding investigations and government inquires, subpoenas and disclosures.
* Supervise outside counsel and special projects including complex document production.
* Advise management and employees concerning risk assessment and mitigation relating to various business activities undertaken by the corporation, to include compliance with the policies and procedures of the company and applicable laws and regulations.
* Exceptional integrity, analytical skills and judgment and exceptional ability for collaboration, team work and motivation of others through thought leadership.
* Experience performing internal independent investigations, research, analysis and counseling clients for Federal, State and Local government investigations.
* Experience working with outside counsel to direct activities.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

* A JD and Active state bar membership.
* A minimum of 8 years directly related experience conducting internal significant investigations, managing government investigations, and DoD compliance matters as counsel in a law firm, in-house counsel, DOJ civil or criminal counsel and/ or enforcement official.
* The ability to obtain and hold a U.S. DoD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

* 10 years or more directly related experience conducting internal investigations.
* Previous in-house experience with a corporation of comparable size and complexity to Northrop Grumman.
* Previous experience with white collar, DoD contract law, federal compliance and ethics issues.
* Active security clearance.
