Northrop Grumman SSSD has an opening for an Experienced Project/Construction Estimator (Principal Facilities Rep) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach.

As an Experienced Project Estimator, you will be responsible for estimating costs of design and construction based on various levels of information.

You will be able to quickly produce high level concept cost estimates for construction location/size/specification comparisons.

Where needed, you analyze specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, and designs, to calculate detailed construction costs breakdowns.

In addition, you will collect cost data from completed projects, prior estimates, and vendors to prepare/maintain a historical cost data register. You will develop and update models for cost estimating. You will regularly complete assessments of contractor claims and produces independent cost estimates for planning purposes.

Additional knowledge of scheduling and forecasting expenditures is preferred.

Essential Functions:

* Develop estimating models and complete high level cost assessments in short timeframes
* Review and use both historic and industry documentation to develop detailed time phased project cost estimates for major facilities works.
* Review contractor claims, assess validity of rates and check quantities are accurate.

Flexible Schedules: This roles offers the ability to work a 9/80 work schedule, which allows an employee to work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday and take every other Friday off of work

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

* 6 Years with Bachelors; 4 Years with Masters (Appropriate combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement;
* Experience with the compilation of estimating tools/models to simplify production of high level estimates.
* Extensive experience with producing construction cost estimates for manufacturing, test, and research facilities of the type/size common to the aerospace industry.
* Understanding of contractor claim assessment methods and experience certifying claims for payment and variation.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Knowledge of ICD 705 requirements
* Knowledge of cleanroom design and construction
* Knowledge of building HAVC systems and industrial sized plants for central service supply
* Active DoD Top Secret clearance or active SCI access
* Experience in mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), fire systems, lighting and building control systems
* Knowledge of AutoCAD, SharePoint and/or Archibus
* Experience in infrastructure design and maintenance.
