Amazon's Finance Technology team is seeking truly innovative Data Engineer to join the team that is shaping the future of the finance/accounting systems. As Data Engineer, you will lead and execute on data engineering initiatives to build an analytical solutions that are highly available, scalable, stable, secure, and cost-effective. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with disparate datasets and be someone who loves to bring data together to answer business questions at speed. You should have deep expertise in the creation and management of datasets and the proven ability to translate the data into meaningful insights through collaboration with analysts, BI engineers, Software Developers and business stakeholders.

On any given day, we use Scala, Java, Python, SQL, Lambda, Redshift and Glue as well as other public AWS services and a host of Amazon internal tools. We dont expect you to be an expert in, or necessarily even be familiar with all of the technologies listed above, but we do expect you to be excited to learn about them.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
Experience in SQL
A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering) or equivalent industry experience

2+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.

2+ Experience in SQL

1+ years of experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines

1+ years of experience in scripting languages like Python etc.

1+ Experience with massive parallel processing (MPP) systems or database like Redshift, Teradata or Hadoop/EMR.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in an engineering or technical field such as Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering.

Experience architecting data lake and cloud data warehouses.

Experience with AWS services such as Redshift, Glue, S3, EMR, Kinesis, Lambda and SNS/SQS.

AWS certifications or other related professional technical certifications.
