DESCRIPTION
Amazon Web Services Network Products Development team is looking for experienced test professionals to help build our next generation networking platforms. The right candidate will play a key role in the design and development of our next generation Ethernet switching platforms for our world class datacenters.
The ideal candidate is a passionate test engineer with Ethernet networking experience in the areas of terabit switch fabrics, 10/40/100 gigabit interfaces, and embedded CPU subsystems, and network processors.
You will have previous experience testing network products. This includes reviewing designs for testability, developing EDVT and MDVT plans and executing them, troubleshooting issues found, and transition to manufacturing. You should be passionate about the role testing plays in achieving product reliability and quality. Applying skills in developing new test processes, test automation and board/system level debug is expected.
Prefer that position be based in SF Bay Area but will consider Seattle candidates. Candidate should be able to accommodate up to 10% travel to other AWS sites and Asia.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
BSEE or relevant industry experience
3+ years experience in hardware testing and debug, preferably in EDVT/MDVT or manufacturing test
3+ years experience with Ethernet switching fabrics, Ethernet PHY and SerDes interfaces, embedded CPU subsystems, network processors, I2C, USB
3+ years experience writing/supporting Linux shell scripts, scripting in languages such as TCL or Python, basic C and C++ programming skills is a plus
3+ years experience with Ixia or Spirent or other traffic generation/analysis tools , experience with Ixia or Spirent automation
3+ years experience in generating comprehensive EDVT and MDVT test plans
Candidate must have current visa and be able to freely enter both Taiwan and China
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with Linux tools such as ping, traceroute, tcpdump, ifconfig, ip link, ip route, and arp
Experience with UEFI and UBOOT is a plus
Experience with ICT, JTAG / boundary scan, and MDA test development
Experience in the following is an asset: signal integrity measurements, DC-DC characterization and testing, RMA failure analysis
Working knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 technologies, experience in testing and troubleshooting IP and Ethernet networks
Must be able to understand circuit schematics and hardware data sheets
Strong board and system troubleshooting skills, must be able to work well with board level hardware engineers, software engineers, and mechanical engineers
Hands on lab skills including rework, troubleshooting with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and specialized test equipment such as PCI analyzers, in-circuit-emulators and traffic generators/analyzers, operating thermal chambers
Experience interfacing with cross functional teams such mechanical engineers, HW engineers, SI engineers, diagnostic engineers, and manufacturing engineers
Experienced interfacing with outside vendors and developers, particularly Asian CMs and Asian ODM/JDM partners
Good verbal and written communication skills, must be organized
