Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has immediate openings for Manufacturing Support Specialist at its Rotoflow facility in Fogelsville, PA.
The position is responsible for providing support for the operations, maintenance, improvements of both the production and test facilities. It will require technical problem solving skills and collaborating with engineers, technicians, contractors, and other Air Products personnel to resolve safety issues, and to complete production facility, test facility and continuous improvement projects and tasks. The incumbent will complete tasks individually and as part of teams to complete activities and projects to maintain the required schedule.
Principle Accountabilities to be successful in this role:
* Provide Test Facility Operations Support
* Create/Update SolidWorks piping arrangements
* Revise test setups based on mark-ups as needed
* Assist test engineer with development of all new test arrangements/equipment
* Develop within role to eventually conduct spin tests as a fully qualified Test Stand Operator (TSO) 2 of 2
* Maintenance/Repair
* Complete facility/equipment safety inspections, testing, repairs and prevent maintenance in a timely fashion by leading technicians/contractors and/or other AP resources.
* Manage all activities using the SAP maintenance system, and/or Facility Maintenance Log
* Develop/improve equipment specific maintenance procedures
* Ensure all spare parts are maintained, inventoried, organized and accessible
* Issue Safety Work Permits and manage Energy Isolation/Lockout/Tagout (with engineering assistance as needed for energy isolation)
* Manage, Train and Supervise contractors
* Complete Short Term Contractor BSP Activities to ensure that contractors are working to the standards set forth in the Contractor Orientation instructions
* Maintain supplies and a high level of organization of the Lockout/Tagout Station
* Keep Single Line and Panel Diagrams current. Ensure Arc Flash Labels are adequate. Ensure that Electrical PPE is in good working order and any required safety inspections are completed.
* Coordinate /Complete all annual instrument calibrations
* Support engineering with troubleshooting test equipment
* Housekeeping / WOVC
* Conduct routine housekeeping audits after test setups / teardowns are complete
* Work with supervisor to train techs on proper storage locations/methods
* Ensure equipment is available, in good working condition and inventoried appropriately
* Replace damaged equipment as needed
* Keep manufacturing literature available and well organized for all facility equipment
* Improvements / Upgrades
* Complete mechanical/electrical facility and equipment upgrades per initiatives in ILOG
* Complete MOCs
* Lead or participate on teams as needed to investigate problems, determine root causes, brainstorm solutions, and implement corrective actions while gaining input and information from a diverse group of employees to achieve results that are consistent with improving safety, quality, and schedule, and reducing costs.
* Act as a change-agent by identifying Continuous Improvement opportunities, promote the benefits of the CI culture and lead CI teams.
* Elicit feedback for areas of improvement across the manufacturing organization.
* Purchasing Support
* Generate requisitions for buyers
* Work closely with purchasing when communicating with or bringing-in contractors or suppliers to ensure that the contractors or suppliers are Air Products approved, that we have Accord forms from them and to effectively manage invoicing and payments.
* Maintain proper stock levels of all items not purchased trough SAP ie. Paint, Epoxy, Gaskets
* Purchase all material, tools and parts needed for testing, maintenance, and shop operations via Pro Card
* Maintain an up-to-date Contacts List
* Procure materials needed for shop-produced tooling in accordance with specifications
* General Facility Support
* Investigate and resolve safety issues and incidents as directed by the mechanical engineer.
* Maintain an accurate, up-to-date list of the activities to be completed (Maintenance Log, ILOG, SAP Maintenance) and work with engineering and manufacturing staff to prioritize work
* Plan, organize, and coordinate work with the mechanical engineer, master scheduler, and manufacturing supervisor to complete tasks on time and budget.
* Provide a positive, team-oriented, work environment and create a climate in which people are motivated to participate and provide recommendations.
* Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills. Maintain free and open communication.

* Strong organization skills for managing equipment inventory and documentation
* Capability to execute many simultaneous activities by effectively planning, organizing, and coordinating activities with the master scheduler and manufacturing supervisor to complete projects on time and on budget
* Proficiency in the application of Air Products EHS procedures such as safety work permits, energy isolation, lockout/tagout, electrical safe work practices, fall protection and confined space.
* Capability to train technicians and contractors in EHS procedures to enable them to perform their work in a safe and effective manner.
* Basic to intermediate troubleshooting skills in the areas of instrumentation, electrical and mechanical.
* Strong use of PC programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
* Ability to use CAD (SolidWorks) design software
* Learn and manage 5 axis CNC programming
