Job Summary: Provide compliance oversight and evaluation of UPS Airlines major maintenance representatives and external maintenance vendors. Implement and manage quality oversight programs through effective performance metrics and continuous process improvements. Objectively evaluate compliance culture and provide briefings to UPS and vendor senior management.
Job Description: Responsible to evaluate quality control procedures and inspections are carried out in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and the UPS Airlines Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP). Perform surveillance of maintenance vendors, facilitate process improvements and investigate quality escapes to identify root cause. Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor strategic initiatives and drive improvements. Evaluate effectiveness of vendor established quality assurance and quality control programs. Perform root cause analysis. Create observation summaries and provide briefings to UPS Airlines ACMX staff managers, and vendor senior management.
Required Skills: Bachelor Degree (aviation related preferred). FAA A&P Certificate. Experience with quality assurance management principles. Working knowledge of 14 CFR 121 air carrier requirements related to aircraft maintenance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel 50% - 75% of time (domestic and international).
Additional Skills: Working knowledge of 14 CFR 121 Air Carrier Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS). Experience working with FAA Aviation Safety Inspectors. Quality Assurance experience in a Major Maintenance 145 Repair Facility. Experience with Root Cause Analysis and conducting Safety Risk Assessments for aircraft maintenance functions.
