Job Description Summary
As a Robotics and Autonomous Systems Engineer you will work with GE Research, GE Business, and external customers to define, build, and execute strategic research and development programs focused in Robotics and Autonomous Systems aligned with GE’s Digital Industrial vision.

Essential Responsibilities

Develop new technology concepts with strategic impact focused in robotics and autonomy, including motion planning, perception, manipulation, and human-robot interaction.
Actively participate in design, architecture, and development efforts.
Engage with internal and external thought leaders across the robotics technology stack to drive new concepts and applications.
Qualifications/Requirements

PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with experience in design and development of autonomous systems, robotic systems, simulation environments, and/or human-robot interfaces OR a Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of experience in design and development of autonomous systems, robotic systems, simulation environments, and/or human-robot interfaces OR a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience in design and development of autonomous systems, robotic systems, simulation environments, and/or human-robot interfaces
Strong execution track record
Experience in building autonomous systems
Experience in path/motion planning, kinematic and dynamic modeling of robots, perception, graphical simulation, and GUIs.
Experience related to systems architecture, design, and system integration
Experience programming in C/C++/Python
Experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS)
Experience with computer vision, and machine learning.
Possess superior problem-solving skills and independent decision-making abilities, all while operating in an extremely demanding, fast-paced team setting.

Desired Characteristics
