The Wind Turbine Mechanic is a critical and active role to maintain optimal function and output at the wind site by working daily on turbine operations, required maintenance, safety, quality control. The Maintenance Mechanic partners and communicates with all stakeholders to execute on contract and maintenance requirements and timelines and ensures alignment with GE excellence!
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities

As the Wind Turbine Mechanic – Wind Site Balko, you will:

Work with site leadership/technicians to execute maintenance requirements, which may include any portion of the electrical and mechanical equipment used in the GE wind turbine;
Learn and perform maintenance tasks such as greasing, torqueing, cleaning, filter change outs, functional tests;
Perform visual inspections; examine and identify turbine per the maintenance manual;
Adhere to maintenance schedule, document all work performed using computer based service reporting procedures;
Communicate issues, safety or mechanical concerns to the Site Manager or Lead Tech;
Be the support function on repair tasks, per EHS guidelines;
Provide down tower support.
Qualifications/Requirements

High School Diploma or GED;
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in electrical, mechanical or hydraulic processes.
REQUIREMENTS:

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license;
Handle repetitive weight - 50 lbs, and climb towers up to 300 feet daily;
Successfully complete the physical capabilities test, GE LOTO training and certification;
Meet specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300lbs including required gear;
Ability to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities;
Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules, and on-call per site needs.
Desired Characteristics

Ability and willingness to take initiative, drive individual learning and development within GE programs and trainings;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field from an accredited college or university;
Ability to work with a variety of personnel at all levels inside and outside of the Wind Farm.
Wind turbine experience;
Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience;
Experience using hydraulic power tools;
Experience with heavy equipment required for facility maintenance with a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements.
