The Future Talent Program features internships that lasts up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Research Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals

Our Absorption, Distribution and Drug Metabolism (ADME) group with in Pharmacodynamics, Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism Department in South San Francisco, CA is seeking a summer intern. The ADME group evaluates the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of therapeutic small molecules, peptides and proteins in early discovery through drug development. The intern will contribute to designing in vitro and cell-based assays that will allow us to triage and predict the ADME properties of biologics and/or peptides, and will learn basic concepts of pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD). The intern may also be trained in the following techniques/methods: Fluorescence/Confocal imaging, MSD/ELISA and UPLC-MS/MS. In addition to laboratory skills, the interns will have the opportunity to analyze, interpret and present data in various meeting forums.

We are seeking intern candidates at all levels with strong academic performance, communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to work in a multi- functional environment.

Required Education and Experience:

* Candidates must be a currently enrolled undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior student pursuing a bachelors degree OR a currently enrolled graduate student pursuing a masters or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Pharmacokinetics, Biology, Virology, Microbiology, Immunology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.

* Candidates must be available to work full-time for up to (12) consecutive weeks beginning in May or June of 2021.

* Candidates must have completed at least (2) years of studies toward bachelors degree by June 2021.



Preferred Experience and Skills:

* Candidate should have experience with mammalian cell culture (2D and 3D), as well as fluorescence microscopy and image analysis.

* Candidates should have basic laboratory skills and research experience, such as: Various biochemical assays and molecular biology techniques: SDS-Page, Western blotting, enzyme kinetics, immunoassays (ELISA, etc.), LC-MS/MS.

* Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and collaboration skills along with strengths in delivering results in fast-pace environment.

* Candidates should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
